About Don

Don Harvey knows Austin. He's a long-time resident and well-regarded musician who is deeply involved in the community and passionate about Austin's quality of life. Don's not a "sales-person," he's a client advocate--highly skilled in the art of negotiation. He is consistently one of Stanberry & Associate's top-producing agents. Don is a certified EcoBroker®, able to assist with healthier, cost-effective green practices in real estate. Don is a member of the National Association of Realtors®, Texas Association of Realtors®, Austin Board of Realtors® and Austin Central Texas Realty Information Service.

A soulful drummer, Don received the Best Drummer award at the 2006-2007 Austin Music Awards. Watch Don perform on The Late Show with David Letterman. He's recorded and toured with many wonderful musicians over the years including Ian McLagan & the Bump Band ,Charlie Sexton, Joe Ely, Billy Bragg, Ronnie Lane and many others. In 1995, Don co-founded the SIMS Foundation (Services Invested in Musician Support), to help Austin area musicians gain access to affordable mental health services. He also co-chairs (with Alejandro Escovedo ) Austin Child Guidance Center's annual "Super Hero" benefit concerts. Don co-owned the legendary Austin Rehearsal Complex (the ARC)--a hub of Austin music--for a decade.

A section of Carol Eikleberry's best-selling book "The Career Guide for Creative and Unconventional People" is about Don. In it she writes "Don believes he's a good real estate agent because he's a good listener. Listening is the spark of his creative process, whether he's listening to his clients or other musicians."

Don's lovely wife Kate Harvey, a certified Realtor Assistant, assists buyers by emailing listings and helping them refine their search.

A percentage of Don's earnings are donated to the SIMS Foundation and Austin Child Guidance Center.
